Visiting us for the first time?

Facts + Questions

What time should I arrive?

Our services on Sunday start at 10 AM and 6 PM sharp, and on Wednesdays at 7 PM. Most people arrive within a half hour before. Come when you are ready! If you would like some time to get comfortable, find your way around, and find a good seat, come a bit earlier.

What should I wear?

Come as you are. Some people dress up, while others choose casual attire. what matters most is that you’re here.

What does worship look like?

At Calvary Tabernacle, worship is at the heart of who we are. As an Apostolic Pentecostal church, we believe worship is a personal and passionate response to God’s goodness. You may see people singing, clapping, dancing, lifting their hands in surrender, or even coming to the front to worship.

Why? Because the Bible encourages expressive worship:
“Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; praise Him with the timbrel and dance; praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes.” (Psalm 150:3-4)
“I will lift up my hands in Your name.” (Psalm 63:4)

Every action is an expression of thankfulness, faith, and love for God. There’s no pressure to worship in a certain way—how you respond is completely up to you.

What is the preaching like?

At Calvary Tabernacle, preaching is the heartbeat of our services because we believe God’s Word changes lives. Our Pastor preaches often, but we also have several ministers in our church, and at times you’ll hear a visiting speaker.

The preaching is Spirit-led and Bible-based. Sometimes it’s a strong, fiery word that stirs faith and calls us to action. Other times, it’s a deep, thoughtful message that brings clarity, hope, and encouragement. Every message is prayerfully prepared to help you grow closer to Jesus and live out your faith in a powerful way.

Why do people go to the front of the church after the preaching?

At the close of many services, we take time for what we call “coming to the altar.” This is a special moment to respond to what God has spoken to your heart. It’s a time to pray, worship, and let God work in your life in a deeper way.

You might see people seeking God for direction, asking for strength, repenting, or simply giving thanks. Our ministry team is also available to pray with you if you’d like. We believe these moments are life-changing because the Bible shows us that drawing near to God brings His presence and power into our lives (James 4:8).

You are always welcome to come forward—but never pressured. It’s an open invitation for anyone who wants more of Him.

What about my kids?

We love kids and teens at Calvary Tabernacle! On Sunday mornings, we offer CT Kids classes designed to teach God’s Word in a way that is fun, interactive, and age-appropriate.

Here’s how CT Kids is organized:

  • Toddlers (Ages 2 – Preschool)

  • Primary (Kindergarten – Grade 3)

  • Preteens (Grades 4 – 6)

Our CT Youth (ages 12–18) also have a class just for them!

All children and teens stay with their families for worship in the main sanctuary and then head downstairs for their classes around 10:30 AM.

First time? Parents will need to bring their kids downstairs to check in. If you’d like to meet our CT Kids Director or your child’s teacher, just let us know—we’d love to introduce you!
